Collaborative Activities throughout 2023 and 2024 (and beyond):

In light of the current climate crisis and the imperative of transitioning to sustainable energy practices, we are taking a critical view of short-term (academic) exchanges that often entail long-distance air travel. We believe it is imperative to explore alternative forms of collaboration beyond traditional one-week workshops. The collaboration between UGent and UC Berkeley, therefore, entails a blend of online interactions for the majority of participants and long-term on-site stays for a select few. Sustainable collaboration is nurtured through long-term engagement in The Institute of Hydrocolonialism, with Prof. Greg Niemeyer serving as the founding director.

Congratulations to Christel and her team!
