On October 18th, 2024, we had the honor of welcoming Elissar Kurban, Associate Director of Global Outreach & Partnership Development at the University of California, Berkeley, to Ghent.
After a meeting with the Ghent University team, we organized an information session together for students in the UGent Honours and Excellence programs about the UC Berkeley Summer Sessions. Elissar provided valuable insights into the distinctive Californian campus culture and the high academic standards of UC Berkeley's curriculum. Additionally, students heard firsthand from previous scholarship recipients, who delivered an engaging presentation on their academic and personal experiences during the 2024 UC Berkeley Summer Sessions.
