Thomas Haseloff is a PhD candidate from UC Berkeley at the Department of Sociology. He visited UGent through our student exchange programme in 2023.
He was hosted by the group of prof Raf Vanderstraeten.

Prof Raf Vanderstraeten, who hosted Thomas, adds: "The Covid-19 pandemic did have a negative impact on the international nature of our research group. Health risks and travel restrictions not only impeded ongoing PhD and post-doc projects, especially of international researchers, but also made it extremely difficult for new international researchers to join the research group. We were happy that Tom was able to join us in the post-Covid era, not just because he reminded us of the benefits of internationalization, but also because he brought in a variety of fresh perspectives on economic sociology.
